“It’s not right in one life too much rain”, that’s from a Paul McCartney song, I’m not sure if it’s his original line of if he got it from some other great thinker, but non-the-less it’s a great line. It’s one of those lines that make you think. It’s not a typical Paul McCartney line; it’s a little down and out sounding, like life is just crap. But in truth, I don’t think that’s what he was saying; I think the line is more about perspective than anything else.

Keeping our lives in balance, that’s what it’s all about. We need to learn that, we need to practice that, and we need to implement that in to our daily life. Perspective, how we see things, how we interrupt life.

No life is perfect, and truly no day is ever truly smooth sailing, yet some of us see life that way. We are said to be wearing rose tinted glasses. We choose to see life as upbeat and positive. We chose to create a world that meets our needs. Now the argument can be made that others who do not see the world through rose colored classes choose to do so. And that is true; they do chose to see life as a negative. But once again it’s all about balance. We need to allow the sun to shine in our life as well as allowing the rain to fall. Each has a purpose.

Too Much Rain

By: Paul McCartney

Laugh when your eyes are burning
Smile when your heart is filled with pain
Sigh as you brush away your sorrow
Make a vow that it’s not gonna happen again

It’s not right in one life too much rain

You know the wheels keep turning
Why do the tears run down your face?
We used to hide away our feelings
But for now tell yourself it won’t happen again

It’s not right in one life too much rain

It’s too much for anyone
Too hard for anyone
Who wants a happy and peaceful life
You’ve gotta learn to laugh

Smile when you’re spinning round and round
Sigh as you think about tomorrow
Make a vow that your gonna be happy again

It’s all right in your life no more rain

It’s too much for anyone
Too hard for anyone
Who wants a happy and peaceful life
You’ve gotta learn to laugh

The song sings of finding peace, happiness and balance in one’s life. The song speaks of choosing to see life as positive, choosing a balance between rain in your life or sunshine.

The political statements will stop (for now) and I will try my best not to use this blog for my own point of view, But I must admit, it felt good!

Sometimes doing something just for the feeling of it is a great thing. Now I am not advocating drug taking or drinking to get drunk as a thing one should do, just because it feels good. But I am advocating that we sometimes need to do something just because. Like my blog from yesterday, it just felt good to let all my anger out, all my fears out. Maybe I changed a few minds, or made people think, but really that want not my point in writing it, my point was, I needed a release, I needed to get it out in the open. So if I offended anyone, or made anyone feel uncomfortable, so be it. Sometimes that’s ok also. My point of views will not be everyone’s, and in today’s Politically Correct worlds, we all too often hold things in, and that can have a very negative effect on ourselves and others.

The effect on ourselves, I think most of can understand, but on others… That may be a little bit harder to understand. How can I being politically correct affect others in a negative way?

Easy, if I am not true to myself, how can I be true to others? If I hide who I am, do I really look for the truth of others? We may fool ourselves in thinking we do, but if you stop and really think about, we can’t. We cannot look or see in others that witch we hid in ourselves. If we find something so hideous in ourselves that we hide it, we don’t look at it, then we will do the same with others, we will not see it, it would be a reminder of what we do not want to see in ourselves.

Now I am not saying that all Political Correctness is bad, but I do think that the fact that we have taken it too such extremes is, the fact that we have no tolerance for others point of views that goes across the grain of the current correctness doctrine is. In today’s PC world, one cannot have a view that is not that of the collective, so my political statement was my way to let it all out, they represent my true feelings on the current election.

So sometimes is a good thing to let it all hang out, and sometimes is not a good idea, each situation offers its own unique opportunity to discern the response needed. And yesterday I discerned the need to state my fears of the up and coming election, today, I discerned the need to explain myself, and tomorrow who knows what I will discern. But I can promise that whatever it is, it will be the true me. The one not afraid to let it all hang out, now just how I let it show, and what I choose to show will depend on the current state of being. So stay tuned… You never know what will come nexts.

Dark days are always a part of our life, but having said that so are light day. There is an opposite for everything. For good there is bad, for up there is down, you get the idea.

But for many there is no opposite, they choose to see only one side of all things, for them there is no good but only bad, or there is no down only up. Their world is an all or nothing world. Their world is full of light or full of darkness. They only move up or down, but not both.

Both cases are bad, we need change, we need flexibility, and we need the darkness and the light. We are not created to be constant; we are created to be change. Always evolving, growing and becoming a new creation. It is the contrasts of life that allow us to do so.

If we only see the world as all good, why bother changing, it is perfect the way it is. If we see everything as down, then what’s the use of even trying to change, it will only end in a downward motion.

It is the ebb and flow that create the need to grow, the need to see things in a new light.

We need balance, we need to be dark and light up and down… We need to allow ourselves the privilege of contrast. The black and white lights are what give the world its colors. If we have no black, we would have no color, no variations to what we see or experience.

So allow yourself the experience to live the black and white of life, to see the ups and downs and to know the colors of the world.
