Well, today is the first day if feel ok in a few days. I have been suffering with a sinus cold and it has been kicking my butt. Monday was spent at home sleeping the day away and trying to breath, not a fun day, but such is life. Tuesday was a little better, but still much of the same, just less sleep. And today, well I can breathe a bit better, but not 100% yet.

I hate being sick, it’s such a waste of time!

I know people who love to be sick, they love the attention they receive, they crave it and I believe they make themselves sick to achieve that end. I find it kind of sad that someone would make themselves sick, either mentally or physically, what a sad commentary on their life. Now I know some people are already shaking their heads saying that the poop person is not mentally or emotionally stable, and that is why. I was that for a small percentage I would agree, and I mean a small percentage, no more than 1%. No I do not have data to back this up, but what I do have is my personal sampling of family and friends.

The ability for the human mind to control the body is unlimited, we as humans use only 10% of our mind powers, only 10%, a small fraction if the ability of our human mind. So don’t tell me that that the mind cannot control our physical well being. It can and it does!

We have seen this countless times, a mother lifts a car off her child, a child survives in the cold for days without food or water, a father walks hundreds of miles in the wilderness to find help for his family. All acts of the human mind controlling the physical body, allowing it to perform above and beyond its normal abilities. If it can do that, it can also bring on physical discomforts and ailments. The mind is a great mystery and creation of God, who are we to limit its power.

What I find amazing is the ability for the mind to phantom such deception. The ability to control the human and not the other way around, they allow their minds to make them sick, to give them an ailment that will cause the reaction they desire. It truly is a sad condition; one that leaves the human body is shambles. The upside to all this is, if we have the ability to make ourselves sick, we than have the same ability to make ourselves well again. And we have seen this happen as well. People who have made themselves sick to achieve a certain reaction often times will “heal” themselves if the reaction is not achieved, and then move on to a new ailment in hopes of achieving the desired reaction.

The power of the mind is awesome, but can be misused at times. We have a responsibility to care for our mind, and in return it will care for us.

I have friends and family members that are of the belief that their actions affect no one that they live in a bubble; their actions are there’s alone. What a sad way to live life. If you ask me, that is not even living. Our lives are made to connect to others, to interact with humanity, and to live one’s life as if you are an island unto yourself is not living, but rather dieing unto yourself.

The Human condition is a complex condition, one with many levels and deep interlocking connections. Your ability to manage this complex force will also determine your ability to navigate through life. Some people seemed better prepared for this task as others seem to fail and falter at every one of life’s twist and turns. Their ability to bend and move seems to be limited to a very small box or space; some will argue that the box or space is based on their upbringing, or the current environment they find themselves in. Others will argue that it is out of their control, that outside forces are dictating their actions. And some will say it’s just plain old bad luck.

I know people that fit all three types, and I know some who just don’t care, no reason for their life, and really don’t care. To me all of them have chosen their path. And all of them have chosen the wrong one.

Life is what you make of it, regardless of your upbringing, your luck or any other outside influence. The only person from above who truly understands their life is the one who states “I just don’t care”. That is the only true and honest response to why their life is a mess.

Now I know some will be saying, now wait, what about all the people that where abused and children, or grew up poor or had a bad hair day… and so on. And I respond, that truly is sad, and my heart goes out to them, but that is life. As youth we have no to very little control over our lives, and yes, we do use our life experiences to help us shape our future. And that is the key; we use it to help us shape our lives, not the other way around. Our life experiences do not shape us; we use them to help us. How he chooses to process that information is still up to us. I have read many books of children who have suffered unthinkable abuses, and have chosen to use that life of living hell as a reason to better themselves, to make this world a little brighter, for themselves and others. I have also heard stories of the opposite, kids from happy and healthy families, which decided to process the information for the negative, to harm all they can include themselves.

I have experienced both reactions with my family and friends. I have seen the effects of taking responsibility and the effects of blame. I have witnessed the growth and distraction of the human spirit, and I have seen the spirit of life diminish and grow with in that person. The connections between the two are directly related. Ones level of spirit, ones level of life, is related to their outlook on life itself.

The path we choose to live is our own choice, it is our freewill that determines our life, it saddens me to see people who are not willing to accept the responsibility of life. It breaks my heart to see a life wasted on the “what could have been’s” and the “what is was”. We all make choices, we all have the ability to move forward, stand still or move backwards. No magical force will move us, no history determines our path and no future is determined. The game of life is not a toss of the dice, but rather a thought out process of growth.

Authentic freedom does not meant doing what you want when you want to whom you want, but rather it means, understand who you are, and that you are not alone here.

All too often we think of freedom as a free for all. But freedom does not mean that, in any way shape or form.

With freedom comes great responsibility.  You now have the weight of the world on your shoulders; your life is not yours, when you are truly free. Sounds like a contradiction in terms, but really it’s not.

It is a paradox, one that will make you think, but not a contradiction. The more freedom we have, the more we are called to respond.

Our freedom is directly connected to our freewill. We gain freedom, by exercising our freewill in a positive and productive way. We make choices in our daily lives, choices that affect our ability to live a free life.

When we choose to go counter to the common good, we choose slavery, slavery to the consequences of our choice. When we choose not to listen to our conscience we choose to listen to the voice of evil, when we do that, we have just entered in to a slave/master relationship. With us being the slave.

Freedom allows us to make choices that benefit us and more importantly the world around us. Freedom demands of us, or rather obligates us to concern ourselves with the affairs of the world around us.

If you look at the world around you, countries where freedom is lacking, the over all population is less concerned with their fellow man, then in a freer society. The same can be said of individuals, the more freedom we and individuals have, and the more responsible we act to other, on the whole.

Freedom calls us to a radical obligation, a deep concern and a greater empathy to others. Freedom does not and can not survive if, we use our freedom for self gain, freedom is not an individual action or concern, but rather it’s a community, and global concern.

You can not change with out affecting others around you, and the world can not be a freer place, with out you changing with it.

We are community, we are all called to change, to a greater good, we are all created to be free and to exercise you freewill. But we must hear the call load and true, that freedom is not just about you, freedom is about all.
