Today I had to practice keeping my anger under control, in fact that’s how I started my day. A part of my life currently is dealing with a bankruptcy, due to the failing of our store and helping other people out and getting taken advantage of. But that’s for a different blog.

What happened this morning to start my day so well… My Jeep was repoed, now if it was expected I would be fine with it, but as part of my bankruptcy is the protection of the Jeep. So my anger quickly came to the forefront. Trust me it took all I have to hold it in check. I am currently working to get my Jeep back and continue on my way to repay all my debt. Yes, I am repaying it all, not all bankruptcy’s are the same, I will be paying off all my debt, the bankruptcy is just to protect me in situations like this. But it failed me, so far. With any luck I will have my Jeep back soon, if not I will be getting a new vehicle.

God finds ways to test us, or is it better to say, we find ways to test ourselves. It is up to me to keep my anger in check, God did not create the situation I am in, I did, God did not make me open up a Catholic/Christian book store, I did, God did not make me help out a family member nor did God make that family member abuse my kindness. God didn’t do any of that, but what God did was to be with me at all times, he offered His comfort and graces to me. And this morning I took them and held my anger at bay. It was hard, and to tell you the truth, I really wanted to let it all out, to use words that are not very nice, but I didn’t.

God has a funny way about Him, he finds the oddest moments to show His love. In the mist of a bankruptcy He chooses to show His grace to me, He chooses to send HIs calming love to me.  God seems to like to use situations like this to show his saving grace.

It seems God has a sense of humor, because I am sure someone finds this all funny, and others will find it justice, thinking I am trying to get out of paying my debt, but as I have stated, I will be repaying my debt 100%, I just need the help in restructuring it, allowing my time to pay it. In three years it will all be paid off, and I will continue along my way. So Ha Ha very funny does not apply here, it’s more like, well here we go again, yet another bump in the road.

I know that God is with me, and that is love and grace is always with me. And with His love I will make it, I will survive. I just hope with a little less bumps and a little less drama. I just want to get on with it, move on and enjoy life.

Now truth be told, I am enjoying life, and I am getting on with it, but I really would like to be done with all this, the stress is sometimes unbearable, and it makes it hard to keep an upbeat personality going. I am, by nature, an upbeat person, so to add this stress to my life is like adding an anchor to me, keeping me down, and this weight last for three years… As Charlie Brown would say UGGH! It is at times like this that I do feel like good old Charlie Brown, I feel like a BLOCK HEAD!

But I know that it will all be over one day, that soon I will be debt free and out of bankruptcy, but I am sure something will replace that, there seems to always be something going on in my life, death of a parent, taking in a youth and now bankruptcy, So what will it be next? I guess I will just have to wait…

Sometimes the excitement is just to much for me… NOT! Truth be told, I could use a little non-excitement in my life, it would be nice to know that noting is happening, that nothing is going wrong. But I am convinced that my life is not meant to be boring, that in to my life strife must come.

But in the end, I was proud of myself for keeping my cool this morning, I was pleased to know that all the bad words stayed in my head, and in the end this little life experience has taught me a life lesson, and for that I am thankful, but its still not funny!

Trust, a simple work really, only 5 letters and the meaning is not to complex.  You trust in something or someone, you have faith that it will work or they will do as they say. Trust…

trust

/Ponunciation http://cache.lexico.com/g/d/dictionary_questionbutton_default.gif[truhst] ,

–noun

1.

reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.

2.

confident expectation of something; hope.

Synonyms:

·         belief

·         dependence

·         faith

·         reliance

On the surface it looks like a very basic thing, trust… But in truth we all know that it is a very complex thing and a very hard thing to do and to gain. Trust is a gift we give to each other and a gift we can take back very easily.

We go through life gaining and creating trust in others and things. We learn to trust our parents our schools and society. We are told to trust teachers, police officers and our Church. We are taught that trust is earned by our own actions. And we are taught we can break the trust others have in us the same way.

Trust… Five letters that can control our actions and motives, some care about trust and others do not, some worry about gaining your trust and others are only concerned with breaking it.

Trust can build nations or tear them down, create families or tear them apart. Trust can start wars and bring peace. Trust is a word that has the power to lift you up, or hold you down. Trust is one mighty powerful word.

Trust is one of the most missed used and understood words in the English language, right behind Love. We state our trust in others and things with no value behind it, we give our trust to others who have done nothing to earn it, and we are appalled when that trust is miss used and abused.

Trust…

Think about it, do you really understand the word…

Whom can you trust what can you trust in and do you really trust yourself?

Just something to think about…

Don’t stand in someone else’s shadow when it’s your sunlight that should lead the way.

I found this statement at http://www.indianchild.com/thoughts_for_life.htm and I found it to such a simple and true statement that I wanted to share it with you. We all shine, we all have the light in us, we just need to learn how to let it shine. But the question is how do we do that. How do allow our light to shine when we are unsure of ourselves, when we see ourselves as nothing important, nothing worth sharing no value in what we offer?

This is the question that needs to be answered; this one question alone will change your world, when you find the answer.

So how do you find the answer, where do you look? You may not like the response I give, but I feel it is the truth. The first place you look is to God, it is in God that we will find the answer for the question “What was I created for, what purpose do I serve in this world” the second part of the equation is “How do I do what is expected of me” and for that answer you must look inside of yourself.

Both questions and both answers are hard to hear, each involves trust, the first question involves trust in something greater then self, and the second involves trust in self.

We don’t like to give up control over ourselves, and to give ourselves to God, to place trust in Him is hard to do, in involves great faith and trust. Yet I fell that that is the main reason you must. We need to learn to have faith is what we do not see, we need to learn to except that we are not in control of our lives, that there is a greater power that allows us to decide, but ultimately God has the power.

Through prayer and meditation, we can learn to let go and allow God to work through us, allowing His graces to fill us and to flow from us, allowing His light to shine for all to see.

This is the first part of the process, accepting that there is something larger then you, something greater then you out there.

The second part is seeing in yourself the value of you. Seeing that God has not created junk, but rather each of us is a unique art work, in progress. That each of us offers the world something that no one else can offer and without it the world is not complete. That we along with the rest of the world paint a complete picture, one of love, a picture that would not be whole without our own unique brush strokes.

We need to stand tall for who we are, let the light shine for all to see, and to bask in the sunlight that is our uniqueness.

Once again, hard to do, lots of work and trust in God and self, but it can be done. Pray and meditate on it, allow the Holy Spirit to work with you and through you and you will see a change.

Trust is probably one of the most important words… It’s a word we use to define a person, it’s used to help us navigate life and trust is used to give value to things.

We use the word trust a lot, and often we say it with out really thinking about it or with out any real meaning, we just trust that the person we are speaking to understands us.

That’s the thing about trust, we give it so freely, and we offer it with out condition. Trust is a gift that we keep on giving, even when we know it’s not deserved. We trust in the other, we hope for the best, and sometimes our trust is broken.

We place our trust is people, institutions such as the government or the church we even place our trust in objects such as guns or computers, but all to often we fail to place our trust in ourselves.

We are too quick to trust someone unknown to us, and not trust in self, we defend the unknown but fail to defend ourselves, and we allow our own insecurities get in the way. We all too often break our own trust, we allow ourselves to underachieve to see ourselves as not worthy of our own trust.

Stop to take the time to re-evaluate how and who you trust, compare the attributes of each, are our trust equally given, do the circumstances change how we give our trust, do we give it to freely or do we keep it all and give it to no one, including ourselves. To we allow the gift to be squandered or horded?

Look at the criteria you use, do you allow the same criteria to define trust for yourself as you do for others?

The gift of trust should be given freely, but it should also have attached to it a very high standard, and that standard should be common for you and for all others. (For the most part, there are always exceptions to the rule)

I trust that you will take to heart what is written here, and I trust that it will transform you… It is the same trust I place in myself, and the same trust I offer to others…
